Heilan X3D Browser and the Ashitaka Audiovisual Instrument
Description
Ashitaka is an instrument currently in development, aimed at investgating how audio and visuals may be linked in a performance situation.
Heilan is the software environment in which the Ashitaka instrument will exist. It is a cross-platform OpenGL X3D browser with a low latency Ambisonic audio engine (allowing for full 3d sound reproduction given an appropriate number of speakers) and Open Sound Control support. The Ashitaka instrument will be represented as a single object within the browser (controlled via OSC), allowing it to co-exist and interact with other objects in the 3d space.
